Hemm żewġ sinjali differenti għal RIZZA. L-ewwel sinjal isir bis-swaba’ taż-żewġ idejn marbutin flimkien bil-pala ta’ id tħares lejn il-pala tal-id l-oħra. Is-swaba’ jperpru.

It-tieni sinjal għandu żewġ partijiet. (jew i) L-ewwel iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 ikkurvata u jitqiegħdu ftit il-bogħod minn xulxin qisu jirrapreżentaw xi oġġett. (jew ii) Imbagħad, id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 mgħawġa bil-pala tħares lejn il-ġenb. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ F miftuħa u mgħawġa, tintlewa mill-polz u tinżel fuq l-ewwel id. Is-saba’ l-kbir u l-werrej jinżlu fuq l-ewwel id u lura qishom qed joħorġu xi xewka. Dan il-moviment isir darbtejn jew iktar.

Varjant ta’ dan is-sinjal juża id waħda fl-għoli ta’ l-għonq li tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 milwi u bil-pala tħares lejn l-art. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ 1 jew ta’ 4, bil-pala ’l ġewwa. Il-werrej jipponta lejn il-pala ta’ l-id l-oħra u jimxi sakemm jolqotha diversi drabi f’postijiet differenti. Dan ifakkrek fix-xewk tar-rizza.

Id-daqs tar-rizza jintwera b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ Ċ magħluqa jew miftuħa skond il-kobor.

Għall-plural is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal RIZZA. Il-werrej spiss jintuża bħala classifier u jitpoġġa f’postijiet differenti fiż-żona tas-sinjali bħallikieku hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna rizzi. L-id forma ta’ 1 jew ta’ X tintuża bħala classifier meta fis-sentenza ssir referenza għal xi azzjoni jew xi kwalità tar-rizza. L-id timxi skond xi jkun qed jintqal.

There are two different signs for SEA URCHIN. The first sign is made with both hands tied together at the fingers with palms facing each other. The fingers flutter.

The second sign has two parts. (jew i) The first part is made with both hands in a curved 5 shape with the palm facing sideways. The hands are placed a little away from each other as though representing a round object. (jew ii) Then one hand takes the shape of curved 5 with palm facing the side. The other hand takes the shape of open curved F, is bent at the wrist and moves down to the first hand. The thumb and index finger move down and backwards twice or more on the first hand as though they are removing a spine.

A variant of this sign uses one hand in the shape of bent 5 at neck level with the palm facing downwards. The other hand in a 1 or a 4 shape, palm facing inwards. The index finger points at the other palm and moves until it hits it in different places.

The size of the sea urchin is expressed by the use of the C shaped hand, more or less closed depending on the size indicated.

The plural is expressed by the sign for MANY following the sign for SEA URCHIN. The index finger is often used as a classifier and placed at various points in the signing space as though several sea urchins were actually being put into that space. The classifier in the shape of 1 or of X is used when reference is made to some action or quality of the sea urchin in a sentence and moves accordingly.
